- About Us
Your staff can have access seven days per week* to our free, independent and confidential Retail Trust Helpline so in times of personal crisis, they have somewhere to turn for help.
Your staff can call us about anything from physical and mental abuse, to financial difficulty, through to a wide range of other issues like stress, grief, or medical and family problems.
Where our Helpline team believe it is of use, your staff may be eligible for:
Counselling
Up to six free counselling sessions with a qualified counsellor who is BACP registered or equivalent. This can be face to face, local to the employee’s home or workplace, or over the phone. Counselling can be organised very quickly if necessary.
Legal advice
Free telephone legal advice on any personal issue provided through trained professional. The Helpline team can put callers through to our partner legal organisation that is operated by trained professionals who may suggest possible courses of action and advise on further help.
Please note: legal issues related to your organisation are not included in this service.
Debt Advice
Free debt advice and debt management solutions to help with money problems. We work with the UK’s largest provider of free debt advice whose operators will talk to your staff to find out what they owe and advise them accordingly. Where a plan is organised, the agency will deal with the creditors and distribute payments, which may help to reduce stress levels concerning money.
Hardship Grants
If staff have been working in retail for 2 years or more and experiencing financial difficulties, your staff can apply for a one-off hardship grant. We award sums of £100 to £5000 for all kinds of items such as white goods, furniture, mobility equipment, rental and mortgage arrears to people who need them the most. This year we will be awarding £1 million in hardship grants and services.
ReWork
A range of free services is available for your staff facing redundancy or at the threat of redundancy. ReWork services can help people to identify a career path that suits their needs and help them find potential employers. ReWork includes:
• Free Guide to Resolving Redundancy
