Retail Trust has recognised that in the current economic climate, an increasing number of people like you are facing redundancy. We want to keep people with retail skills, in the retail sector. We are offering a brand new free service called ReWork, to help you identify a career path that suits your own needs and helps you to find potential employers.
The downloadable Guide to Resolving Redundancy features useful information that is designed to get you back into a job in the retail sector.
Free Resolving Redundancy Workshops
As part of Retail Trust’s ReWork programme, the charity is running half-day Resolving Redundancy Workshops in London.
Losing your job can be an isolating experience. At the workshops, you will spend the morning with other job-hunters getting practical help from industry experts, professional coaches and expert trainers. Whether it’s learning about the range of jobs in retail, working through your future plans, improving your CV or preparing for an upcoming interview, we are here to help.
The workshops are free to anyone who has worked in retail for two years or more and whose job has recently been made redundant or is under threat of redundancy.

Free Personal Career Coaching
Retail Trust is now offering one-to-one Personal Coaching sessions as part of its ReWork programme for people in retail who are facing redundancy.
Three one-hour telephone coaching sessions, worth over £300, are being provided free, using professional career coaches. Your free coaching is arranged through the Retail Trust Helpline - 0808 801 0808. To qualify for free coaching, you will need to have worked in retail for two years or more and have recently been made redundant.
All Retail Trust Personal Coaching is confidential and takes place individually over the telephone, at a time arranged between yourself and your coach. Your coach can help you to work through your career options, prepare your CV and get ready for interviews. They can also help you deal with the sorts of personal and practical problems that often crop up relating to redundancy and re-employment.
Professional coaching is recognised as one of the most effective routes that anyone can take to help resolve pressing work-related problems and define the steps they need to achieve their career and personal objectives. Your personal coach will be skilled in supporting and challenging you as you work through ideas – they are good at helping you to define the things that will most help yourself.

All the Retail Trust coaches have been vetted for their expertise and suitability for the task of personal coaching by telephone. They are expected to meet recognised professional standards, including continuing development, supervision, commitment to client confidentiality and ethical practice.
