Louise is a single parent and has been bringing up her three daughters alone. When they split up, the daughters’ father kicked them all out of the family home, which he owned, rendering them homeless. She did manage to find a flat to rent privately but couple of months into the tenancy, the landlord decided to sell the flat and she was once again homeless. She was then awarded local authority accommodation.
Louise has managed to buy the essentials by saving hard and with the help of a budgeting loan but she was desperately in need of some flooring for the living room and bedroom. She approached us for help towards flooring as one of her daughters is a toddler and the council property they reside in has old wooden flooring, which is ridden with splinters. Louise was understandably concerned for her daughter’s safety. Retail Trust contributed £468 awarded towards a new carpet and rug to make Louise’s home safe and comfortable.
