retailTRUST Isla Austin Appeal update
Thank you to everyone who has donated to our urgent appeal to support Isla Austin’s cancer treatment. Over £74,000 has been raised so far through retailTRUST, Solving Kids’ Cancer and individual fundraisers.
Isla’s dad, Rick Austin, who works at Habitat said, “We have been quite overwhelmed with people’s generosity over Christmas, it’s really heart-warming. It was great to have the whole family together and for Isla to share the experience with her brother and twin sister this year. This is often something that people may take for granted but we certainly won’t.”
If you haven’t yet donated, please click here to access retailTRUST’s Virgin Money page. Or alternatively text ISLA05 £10 to 70070 to make a difference to a young retail family today.
Isla’s been fighting high-risk neuroblastoma since her first birthday and her parents have chosen for Isla to access the Bivalent Vaccine clinical trial at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York.
Rick stated, “You think cancer is something that shouldn't happen to children, especially your own. Kids should not have to know the word 'cancer', but sadly they do. Our lives changed in a heartbeat. One day we were living normal lives and literally overnight everything was different.
“We are currently fundraising to take her to New York for a vaccine. It costs £155,000 and it is still in trial stages, but we are determined to give her the best chance. Even if it gives her one extra day, then it would have been worth it for us.”
Please donate whatever you can to help Isla be cancer free. For more information, email firstname.lastname@example.org
