Leylands Estate is an extra care retirement community offering care and support in flats and cottages set in 10 acres of beautiful landscaped grounds. The estate is just 10 minutes from Derby city centre which is easily accessible by car or the bus, which stops outside the estate.
Our staff are experienced in welfare benefits and offer advice and support to residents to help them maximise their benefit entitlement. The estate’s Residents’ Association is consulted regularly on all aspects of the estate.
The local shopping centre is nearby and has various shops including a supermarket, greengrocer, baker, optician, and clothes and gift shops.
Facilities and Activities
The estate is a vibrant community and the residents run a social club with a licensed bar, and organise a variety of events. The staff team support even the least able residents to take part in and enjoy activities.
The Resident Social Committee also organises visiting entertainers and outings.
Other facilities include a computer room, library and communal laundry. A hairdresser, beautician and chiropodist also visit regularly. The estate has a disabled people carrier and also a mini bus that provides twice weekly shopping trips for residents. The estate is currently undergoing development which will greatly enhance its accommodation and facilities.
