Location
Set in 10 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds, you will find a unique and very special opportunity to rent or lease a charming cottage on our Leylands Estate. The site itself boasts delightful grounds, sweeping lawns, and mature trees and shrubs. The Estate is situated within one of the most sought after areas within the city boundaries to the north of Derby city centre (approximately one mile). Retail Trust recently invested £9 million in this estate. Now, not only do we offer sheltered accommodation in the Estate’s cottages, the brand new facility now offers 38 affordable high quality Extra Care flats, so residents can live independently with the added benefit of 24 hour care commissioned by Derby City Council. The surroundings need to be seen to be appreciated.

Transport
Excellent local amenities include a regular bus service which can be accessed just outside the estate and a short journey will take you to the city for Westfield Shopping Centre and the Cathedral Quarter. For local shopping there is the Park Farm Centre in the delightful area of Allestree offering, a pharmacy, a Post Office, a supermarket and much more. Darley Park is within walking distance and provides delightful walks along the River Derwent. Also close to Leylands is Markeaton Park, which is ideal for families offering boating, fishing and regular public events, and for golf enthusiasts there are Kedleston and Allestree parks.

Support
Leylands Estate provides sheltered and Extra Care accommodation. Both options offer support with staff on-site every day of the week from 9am-5pm and a 24 hour emergency call service. Care is provided by community care services in sheltered accommodation and by the 24 hour on-site care team in the Extra Care accommodation. All accommodation is suitable for single retirees or couples. Pets are also allowed in some properties at the discretion of Derby’s management. Our dedicated Derby team are very experienced in welfare benefits and can offer advice and support to all residents to help maximise their entitlements.

Security
We pride ourselves on providing a safe and secure environment on the Leylands Estate. That is why we offer daily on-site support for our sheltered and Extra Care residents. An emergency call system is also available for any out of hours emergencies, which gives our residents 24/7 access to a support and maintenance service.

Services
We offer a host of services for our residents at Derby, including excellent food served on-site at our restaurant 7 days per week. You can also relax in the conservatory, which overlooks the landscape gardens and pond, or pop into our on-site shop which offers all of your everyday basics/ This is run by our residents and is open at convenient times

Activities
Leylands estate is a vibrant community, and we have a residents’ committee and residents’ social committee which are consulted on all aspects of the estate. We have a licensed bar, an activities room which holds weekly classes such as art, reading club, bridge, and bingo, and a community hall with a ‘Big Screen’. In the hall we hold a variety of organised events such as seasonal parties and celebrations, indoor bowling, games afternoons, coffee mornings and more. Our caring staff enable residents of all abilities to take part in and enjoy our many activities.

Facilities
Our Derby estate also boasts a computer room, library, a communal laundry and a salon where you  may wish to be pampered by our visiting hairdresser, chiropodist, beautician and other health professionals so you can always look your best.  Perhaps you’d like to venture further afield with your new friends on the estate? The estate has a disabled people carrier as well as a minibus that provides twice weekly shopping trips, excursions and outings that are arranged by the social committee for you to enjoy.

Event Hire
Various areas within the Leylands Estate are available for hire for private functions, meetings, exhibitions, birthdays, bar mitzvahs, weddings and other bespoke events. The venues can cater for groups from 15-100 people and catering prices for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks are available upon request. Both half day and full day hire is available.
