Experience
Retail Trust is the only charity that looks after all five million people working in and retired from retail. Our experience in retirement housing dates back to 1898, making Retail Trust one of the longest established providers of retirement accommodation in the UK. We are the only retirement service exclusive to the retail industry and our experience enables us to understand your retirement needs in a way nobody else can.

Retail Trust has five retirement estates in the UK - London, Derby, Liverpool, Salford and Glasgow, offering Extra Care and sheltered accommodation. Our estates offer a variety of homes from charming cottages right through to modern flats. Each private residence has a fully fitted kitchen and bathroom, separate living room and one or two bedrooms suitable for single or double occupancy. We offer energy saving devices in all of our properties including double glazing and energy efficient heating systems.

Community
Each of our retirement estates can provide you with peace of mind, wellbeing and complete convenience.  As you would expect post, milk and newspapers can be delivered directly to your door so you can focus on the finer things in life. Every Retail Trust estate has a Manager onsite as well as a team of gentle and friendly staff and if at any point your needs change, we are on hand to discuss, agree and organise any additional care or support you or your loved ones may require. Any support or care can be delivered directly to you in your home, so that you can maintain your independence and enjoy your retirement.


Security
We offer an emergency call system, connecting all call points in all main rooms 365 days per year so you can begin your new life on a Retail Trust estate with complete peace of mind. Security entry systems are available in all Retail Trust flats and every home is equipped with smoke detectors.  We can also arrange and pay for an energy performance certificate to be prepared for your existing property so you don’t have to.  Being connected to retail you probably have an interest in shopping and that is why on many of our estates we have a minibus to take you out and about.

Eligibility
If you’re retired you can apply to move to a Retail Trust estate if you have worked in retail or businesses connected to retail (such as sales, manufacturing, wholesale or distribution of retail goods and include fitting services, security or finance) for five years or more. Or you can apply on behalf of yourself, your partner, children and other dependants (parents, grandparents and children, a brother, a sister, an aunt or uncle where the retail worker is the primary carer). We will accept your own service or that of your partner, even if your partner is deceased.
