If you’re wondering why retail needs its own charity, have a think about the following points; the retail sector employs over three million people. It’s the largest private sector employer in the UK – that’s 10% of the workforce. Without this workforce in place to offer the products and services we need in our everyday life - such as food, clothes and transport - the economy would come to a grinding halt.
There are so many ways you can support us and we’ve created plenty of opportunities for everyone to get involved.
While retail offers unparalleled opportunities for people from diverse backgrounds, it has many people on or near the minimum wage, which currently stands at £6.08 for workers aged 21 and over. When something goes wrong, these people can be very vulnerable. Retail Trust has services in place to make sure that we can be there for those who need the support and assistance.

We have a range of services to help people working within retail. Search here for more information.
