We are looking for an IT Support Technician to ensure end users are able to work effectively with minimal disruption, and to assist with the configuration and general effectiveness of the IT environment. The role works closely with both the Senior IT Engineer and the Business Systems Developer to identify and resolve issues and implement changes. The IT Support Technician also delivers training and creates and maintains user guides to empower end users.
The role includes administering the IT service management system, including troubleshooting and resolving incidents and requests in order of priority; configuring desktops, mobile devices, office phones and printers and assisting with the maintenance of server, network and desktop infrastructure. This role will also apply access control, security measures and policies to protect IT systems from compromise as well as educating users on thse policies and supporting teams with smart homes technology.
We are looking for someone with good written and verbal communication skills, the ability to communicate topics in a non-technical language and ability to demonstrate good customer service and problem-solving skills. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft desktop operating systems, common desktop applications (e.g. Word, Excel), basic computer hardware and print management and peripherals is essential. Experience of using Office 365 and SharePoint; Microsoft Servers, Remote Desktop Services; firewalls; active directory and group policies are desired.
There will be ad-hoc travel to estates around the UK where required (expenses paid), however all work is administered remotely where possible. If visits to the office are arranged, COVID guidance and full PPE is provided.
