About the role

We are looking for a part-time Finance Manager who will support and maintain all aspects of financial accounting, reporting and analysis within our complex charity.

In this role, you will assist the Finance Director with the preparation of the annual budget and cash flow management as well as attend to queries from auditors, in a timely manner, for year-end and internal audit reviews. You’ll produce all aspects of the monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts, using JET reporting tool. You’ll ensure that the key control and major balance sheet accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis and be responsible for preparing quarterly VAT returns and ONS statistics.

You’ll manage our Finance Assistant, leading by way of professional example, providing support, guidance and training to the members of the team. You will contribute to the maintenance of the finance department’s procedures manual and policies. 

Skills and experience

We are looking for someone with high attention to detail and the ability to identify, analyse, and resolve issues of, and weaknesses within financial control. You’ll have excellent written, oral and communication skills and work collaboratively with colleagues in all departments. A high level of integrity and professionalism is required in this role as well as the ability to observe strict confidentiality.

You will have a relevant professional accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) and excellent IT/Microsoft Excel skills (inc. VLOOKUP, Pivot tables, Financial modelling). Experience with Microsoft Dynamics or similar accounting package would be advantageous.

There will be ad-hoc travel to estates around the UK where required (expenses paid), however all work is administered remotely where possible. If visits to the office are arranged, COVID guidance and full PPE is provided.
