Mental health trailblazers, industry change makers and people leaders came together for a one-day programme of inspiring content to debate the health and wellbeing issues critical to retail’s success in 2022 and beyond.
The event created an open environment for participants to share best practice, discuss the unique challenges faced by the retail industry and set the standard in workplace wellbeing for the future happiness of our retail colleagues.
From sessions on, ‘what does an effective mental health support system look like’ and ‘how do you know if your wellbeing strategy is actually working?’ to ‘diversity and inclusion strategy insights’ and ‘how leading companies embed D&I’, the Retail Trust is getting to the heart of key issues facing HR teams across the industry right now.
Flexibility in retail is often applauded – and one of the big reasons that people give for choosing to work in retail. But sometimes employees can become trapped by their need for flexibility. This session explored whether career progression can be unlocked with flexible management roles making the industry more appealing to top talent.
What can we learn from each other to develop an effective wellbeing strategy? From wellbeing champions and support networks to working out how far to go when supporting an employee’s financial wellbeing, our experienced panel looked at what works and what doesn’t work so well.
We are all aware what benefits a diverse workforce and feelings of inclusivity bring to an organisation, but there is no, one-size fits all. Every business is different and should take their own tailored approach to diversity and inclusion. So, what does diversity and inclusion look like on the ground? Our panel of experts shared their experience, insight and lessons they’ve learnt along the way.
