About the role

We are recruiting a Senior Housing Management Assistant to support the Extra Care Housing Manager in all aspects of the extra care housing provision. This primarily includes the supervision of the onsite support team and the delivery of the smart homes project, which will provide 21st century digital support services, enhancing all aspects of residents' wellbeing.

Recognising the individuality of residents and ensuring that they have access to services to promote independent living is highly important to this role. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Planning and delivering housing management services for residents.
  • Ensuring support needs and risk assessments are carried out.
  • Liaising with the Extra Care Housing Manager, relatives and residents with and issues or concerns.
  • Assist the Extra Care Housing Manager in the delivery of digital services and the supervision, education, and training of all staff.
  • Answering day time call-outs from residents where necessary.
  • Oversee the production of staff rotas and supervising the housing management staff with their day-to-day work.
  • Comply with safe working practices and maintaining a safe environment for residents and staff, immediately reporting unsafe practice to the Extra Care Manager.

Skills and experience 

The ideal candidate will be qualified in Housing or Care (NVQ 2 level or equivalent City and Guilds) and have previous experience in a supervisory role, particularly having worked with the elderly, frail or disabled. The successful applicant must also have experience with digital devices such as Amazon Alexa as well as the following:

  • Managing and motivating a team
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Quality assessment framework
  • Care and support planning
  • Administrative work – both digital and manual
  • Organising stimulating and interesting resident activities.

The individual must be flexible in hours as weekend and evening work may be required. You must also apply strict confidentiality at all times. Please note this role does not include personal care.
