Alistair has over 20 years of retail experience including roles as CEO of Matalan and Littlewoods. He is renowned for his expertise in driving successful business turnarounds and is currently Executive Chairman of New Look.

Sally Hopson

Sally Hopson MBE

Sally has worked in retail for most of her career and is currently CEO of Sofology. Her previous role was as CEO for the Vets4Pets group to April 2018. Sally is a non-executive director for Jardiland, a French garden centre chain. A four year period as a commissioner on The Women in Work Commission and the Learning and Skills Council was recognised with an MBE awarded in 2006.


Philip Bell Brown

Philip has been involved in retail property for over 25 years, working primarily for different retailers including Boots, Halfords and Sainsburys. Most recently working as Group Property Director at Dixons Carphone. In January 2020 he set up his own consultancy, BB elements, advising on corporate real estate strategy and property investment.

Simon Ledsham

Simon looks after £200 million of Cancer Research UK’s income, its 600 stores and 40,000 volunteers. Prior to joining Cancer Research UK in 2000, Simon spent 12 years in the retail industry with Next and Robert Dyas.

Brian Small

Brian was Chief Financial Officer at JD Sports Fashion plc until October 2018. Brian was previously Operations Finance Director at Intercare Group plc and he also been Finance Director of a number of other companies. He qualified as an accountant with Price Waterhouse in 1981.

Helena Feltham

Helena has an extensive 30 year career in Retail and Human Resource Leadership, holding Board-level roles at B&Q, Jack Wills, Woolworths South Africa and Marks & Spencer.  

She is currently a Non-Executive Director of Ted Baker plc, and as their Senior Independent Director, chairs the Nominations Committee, and is a member of the Remuneration and Audit Committees. 

She previously served as an Independent Director for the National Assembly of Wales, a Trustee for Action for Children, a Non-Executive Director in the NHS and as a Justice of the Peace.

David retired from KPMG in 2017 having been a corporate finance partner for almost 25 years. He was Head of Retail for KPMG in the UK for four years and a regular industry commentator.

A retail professional with both executive and non-executive director-level experience, Gita has worked as an independent consultant with a number of leading UK retailers. Gita is currently a partner with First Friday - a consulting, change management and training business.

Lesley Exley

Lesley established Exley Hervey, a specialist executive search company. Prior to 2003, her marketing expertise was focused on repositioning and profitably developing brands globally, holding board level marketing roles at Selfridges, Zales Jewellers and Tencel.

Currently High Sheriff of Cambridgeshire, Tim is an experienced C-level Director currently studying for Masters in Cyber Security whilst serving as Brigadier in Army Reserves and being a Trustee of various charities including Blind Veterans UK, ASCB and retailTRUST. Tim is a highly experienced executive in the social housing and wellbeing sectors having operated at Board-level in Barchester Healthcare, Anchor Trust and Bupa Care Services.

Currently Chief Executive Officer at Dreams Ltd, Mike has worked in retail for over 30 years, starting his career with M&S. Prior to joining Dreams his previous roles included UK Managing Director at Mothercare, Commercial Director at Asda, Managing Director at Gamestation, and Operations Director at Phones 4U.
