Before you apply, here’s a little more about the process and details about some of the paperwork you may need. And remember, as with everything at the Retail Trust, applying for support is completely confidential and does not affect your credit rating.

Do you qualify to receive digital inclusion support from the Retail Trust?  

You must meet our support criteria:

If you are You must meet these criteria 

Currently working in the retail sector, including students, trainees or apprentices

Minimum one month service with your existing employer 

Students, not employed in retail

Applicant must provide supporting statement including confirmation of course from their educational establishment to evidence need and how support will assist with learning and development

Unemployed 

Must have worked in retail in the last 12 months and have at least two years’ of continuous service with no gap in retail employment 

Long term absent

Must have worked in retail in the last 12 months with at least two years’ continuous service, with no gap in retail employment prior to absence  

Maximum of two financial aid or digital inclusion applications per individual can be submitted within a ten year period, with a minimum period of least two years elapsing between applications.

Before completing an application form, gather all your documentation before you start. To avoid any delay in processing your application, all documents such as proof of service, educational placement and financial status should be submitted at the point of application. 

Failure to upload these documents within ten days of completing the application will result in the application being rejected automatically by the system.

Due to the volume of applications we receive, please be aware that an application is not a guarantee of an award. The Retail Trust will review all applications, prioritising those with the most urgent needs.
