We believe in a world where everyone involved with retail is able to access help and preventative support to manage their wellbeing whenever they need it. Our training helps to ensure that you and your colleagues have the tools to help create happier and healthier workplaces.

Our unique training programmes are offered outside of our paid-for wellbeing services. Each course is delivered by a national network of trainers, all of whom have experience in both mental health training and the retail sector.  

Our training courses have been designed to upskill participants to approach mental health and wellbeing with more knowledge and confidence. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the issues as well as practical tools to take back into their workplaces to make a lasting difference.  

In addition to our core modules, we offer bespoke training to organisations who wish to develop a programme suited to their own particular business needs and learning requirements.

Taking stock of wellbeing in retail for leaders

The aim of this course is to encourage leaders and line managers to respond to distressed colleagues in a proactive and compassionate way while managing performance effectively.

Course content

Explores how individuals can respond to current themes in wellbeing in retail, avoid the accidental counsellor role, signpost effectively, and look after their own wellbeing when caring for others.

Supporting menopause in the workplace

The aim of this course is to assist leaders and line managers in understanding how to support someone who is coping with the menopause, and how organisations can respond to this very natural part of women’s lives.

Will increase managers and people leaders understanding of the menopause and the impact it has for those experiencing it in the workplace, including day-to-day operations, labour turnover, moral, presenteeism and attendance.

Managing sensitive situations in retail for ER and HR teams 

This aim of this course is to upskill frontline HR and ER teams who receive complex calls to build their confidence in supporting and signposting colleagues safely.

Course content

Participants will learn how to respond safely and effectively to disclosures of suicidal feelings, domestic abuse, substance misuse, and self-harm. We also explore self-care for those who receive calls of a distressing nature.

Suicide awareness and response in retail

One in five adults have considered ending their life. The aim of this course is to empower line managers to recognise the signs that a colleague may be feeling suicidal, and then give skills to help save a life.

Course content

Participants will learn how to safely and compassionately support colleagues until professional support is provided. We also explore some common myths related to suicide, and the key components of a compassionate, sensitive conversation which can save a life.

Championing health and wellbeing in retail

The aim of this course is to empower colleagues to take control of their own health and wellbeing, and create an organisational culture shift where everyone thrives.

Course content

Participants will learn about supporting both their own wellbeing and that of others through practical advice on sleep, diet, stress management, social connection, and proactive financial management. We also look at how to access help when struggling.

You can’t heal from a burn by staying in the fire: tools for testing times 

The aim of this course is to focus on the unique challenges that retail colleagues face, including how to avoid emotional burnout, how to blend shift work with personal priorities, and how to identify personal stress triggers.

Course content

Participants will learn how to use the Three 3Ps of Resilience, the Circle of Influence, and other models to help them create a personalised toolkit to manage stress going forward.

The aim of this course is to enable every retailer to benefit from having expertly trained wellbeing warriors on hand to support colleagues with whatever they may be facing.

Participants will gain a full understanding of common day-to-day wellbeing challenges encountered across all kinds of retail operations. Individuals will learn how to respond to a range of situations and where to signpost colleagues for help.
