Menopause refers to the point at which a woman’s periods stop and she can no longer get pregnant naturally. This occurs because the ovaries stop producing eggs and, as a result, levels of the hormones they produce fall. Although menopause is not an illness and is an entirely natural part of a woman’s ageing, it can cause problems emotionally, mentally and physically.
