Paul Armstrong is Managing Director at maneo, which partners with private equity and private capital fund managers to acquire and resolve the legacy structures that remain after a fund’s investments have been sold. Acting as an independent principal rather than an adviser, maneo takes on residual holding companies and vehicles, manages them through to wind-down, and in doing so removes cost, risk and administrative burden from funds and their investors.
Paul has over 25 years’ experience in the private equity industry, principally as a Managing Director at Permira, where he focused on transaction execution for the Permira Funds globally, and subsequently as a partner in the private capital team at Ropes & Gray in London, advising sponsors and their portfolio companies on leveraged buyouts, strategic stake sales, growth investments, mergers and acquisitions and general corporate matters. That combination of principal and advisory experience gives him a deep understanding of the commercial, legal and executional challenges sponsors face across the investment cycle and through to exit.
Alongside his professional work, Paul sits on the Board of Trustees of the Dr. Martens Foundation and is a founding Trustee and Vice Chair of Social Business Trust.
