Paul Armstrong is a partner in Ropes & Gray’s private equity transactions group in the London office with over 25 years of experience in global private equity.
Paul advises private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies globally in a wide range of matters, specialising in the execution and structuring of transactions from leveraged buyouts, strategic stake sales, growth investments, mergers and acquisitions as well as general corporate matters. Having come from a leading global private equity firm prior to joining Ropes & Gray, he has a profound understanding of the legal and executional opportunities and challenges that face leading sponsors as they seek to maximise returns during the investment cycle and through to exit.
Paul’s previous role was managing director at Permira. Paul’s focus at Permira was on the execution of transactions for the Permira Funds globally. Outside of the Boards he is a member of, in connection with the investment activities of the Permira Funds, he is also on the Board of Trustees at the Permira Foundation, where he is Chair, sits on the Board of Trustees of the Dr. Martens Foundation and is founding Trustee of Social Business Trust and Vice Chair.
