Joe Wicks workouts for kids

Everyone’s favourite PE teacher has added a new series of fun five to ten minute workouts for kids to his Body Coach YouTube channel. Each bite-sized HIIT-style workout combines short bursts of no-equipment-required exercises that can be done indoors or outside. Another series sees Joe team up with Hey Duggee to break down simple exercises from squats to shadow boxing to teach kids good form from a young age. There’s plenty for teens and adults too.

BBC Good Food Kid’s Kitchen

This collection of videos and recipes will help children learn to create delicious dishes from scratch. The videos teach essential skills from chopping to roasting, while step-by-step recipes put the skills learned in the videos into practice. Aimed at seven to eleven year olds to do with a little help from an adult, younger kids will need more supervision and there’s lots for older kids to learn too. Globe-trotting recipes include an easy Greek-style pasta salad, a veg-packed korma and cheesy black bean quesadillas. Yum!

NHS self-care videos and articles for young people

Part of the NHS Every Mind Matters mental health hub, this series of six videos offers practical advice around exercise, sleep and social media as well as strategies for coping with change, dealing with unhelpful thoughts and stopping worries spiraling out of control. Along with videos, there are links to more ideas to help and places to go for support. Plus, there’s advice for parents and carers to support children and young people and advice and practical tips to look after your own mental health too.
