Seven tips to manage your wellbeing

seven tips wellbeing help

We all have times when we feel under pressure at work, and we often take these feelings home with us. The best way to manage pressure is to first acknowledge it to yourself, and then seek support as quickly as possible.

Leaving stress unchecked only makes problems mount up, making it more difficult to see the real picture.

We have put together the following tips to help you handle stress and manage your wellbeing:

  1. Seek help as early as you can for any problems you’re facing. Good friends, family and even colleagues can support you during difficult times if you let them.
  2. Get outside at lunch. It’s hard with a busy schedule but even ten minutes can help you to clear your head and get your energy up.
  3. If you’re a fan of sugar, try cutting down. Sugar is an inflammatory so it’s hard on your body. It can cause stiff joints and affect your energy levels. We’ve all heard of the sugar crash!
  4. Wake up 15 minutes early to have some time for yourself to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee. By getting up earlier you are not rushing to get everything done before you leave for work.
  5. Be kind to yourself. In the midst of pressure, we can all be hard on ourselves. It’s ok to feel anxious or stressed but if you find that these feelings are increasing, seek support from retailHUB. We’re here to help.
  6. If you find that you’re not sleeping well because of the stress in your life, ask your GP for advice. There are a number of ways to resolve sleep problems – don’t feel that you have to do it on your own.
  7. Look at your work-life balance. Do you find it hard to say no? Do you feel like you’re carrying the burden for everyone else? It’s helpful to take a step back and recognise that you’re just as important as those around you.
