New independent and high quality end-point assessment service for apprentices and employers

End-point assessment

Approved by the Education and Skills Funding Agency and up to 20% cheaper than existing providers

As part of our ongoing commitment to support the wellbeing of individuals and advancement of careers in retail, we are excited to announce that we have been approved as an end-point assessment provider by the Education and Skills Funding Agency.

End-point assessment is the final independent assessment that an apprentice needs to undertake to ensure that they are competent in the role they have been training for.

The new service will be up to 20% cheaper than existing providers. retailTRUST is a not-for-profit organisation with the specific aim of reinvesting everything it receives in income into services to help everyone involved in retail.

While developing the first retail apprenticeship degrees for the sector, the Trust was closely involved in writing the end-point assessment plans, so understands exactly what is required to deliver a high quality end-point assessment service.

The charity will deliver a completely independent end-point assessment service initially for the Level 2 Retailer Apprenticeship and the Level 3 Retail Team Leader Apprenticeship. As the service expands and grows, it will cover the Level 4 Retail Manager Apprenticeship and the Level 4 Buying and Merchandising Apprenticeship.

This new initiative is yet another fantastic programme to support the re-skilling of individuals. The Trust will recruit assessors from those who will sadly be facing redundancy in retail and thereby helping keep more people involved with the sector. These trained and experienced industry experts will provide the right level of support to apprentices throughout the end-point assessment process.

Apprentices will also be able to access personalised digital wellbeing support through myrtwellbeing.org.uk for the duration of their apprenticeship. This will allow them to use the suite of services the Trust offers to meet their emotional, physical, vocational and financial wellbeing needs.

Amy Prendergast, Director of Change, People and Learning at retailTRUST, stated: “retailTRUST is delighted to have been approved as an end-point assessment provider for retail apprenticeships. We believe our approach to end-point assessment will contribute greatly to making apprenticeships more accessible, cost-effective and of quality. We see it as one of the key platforms to help re-skill former retail employees into trained assessors. The initiative will also build genuine recognition in the value of developing a career in retail through apprenticeships.”
