St. Enoch's Centre supports local projects and the retail sector
St. Enoch Centre has shown its support to both the local community and the retail sector with donations totalling £15,000.
The centre has donated £5,000 to support the retailTRUST fundraising campaign, ‘CaRe 20 – Caring for Retail during COVID-19’. The initiative aims to raise £10 million to provide the financial, emotional, physical and vocational support that will be needed by retail workers and their families who may be ineligible for government support during the health emergency.
Anne Ledgerwood, General Manager of St. Enoch Centre, said:
“This is a challenging time for everyone and we wanted to show our support to both local organisations who are carrying vital work as well as those who have been impacted within the retail sector.”
The leading Glasgow shopping centre has also given £5,000 to the Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice, as well as to the Simon Community.
The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice will use the funds to support their community work with the Salvation Army to help feed families who are going without food during the COVID-19 crisis. Soup and food are being prepared in the hospice kitchen for the Salvation Army to distribute to those in need.
The donation of £5000 to the Simon Community will help the local community who are working to support the homeless and rough sleeping initiative in Glasgow.
